Angel Di Maria is too expensive - PSG president
Angel Di Maria will not be joining Paris Saint-Germain from Real Madrid this summer because he is 'too expensive'.
The French champions were expected to complete a deal in excess of £50million for the Argentine winger with Manchester United also interested.
But PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi revealed at a press conference on Thursday, where new signing David Luiz was also unveiled, that Di Maria's fee was too much.
But David Luiz is cheap. lol

"There has not been an offer and we are not in negotiations. The truth is that Falcao will play with Monaco again in 2014-15."Falcao looks happy. I think he's glad to be over the injury and be back with his team-mates.

Vermaelen was a target for Man Utd but they ended their interest after refusing Arsenal's demand to receive a player as part of the deal. The move to Barcelona is likely to be completed this weekend, ending Vermaelen's five-year stay in London.

David Luiz apology to all Brazilians....Awwwww
David Luiz has apologised "to all Brazilians" for the humiliating 7-1 defeat to Germany in the World Cup semi-final in Belo Horizonte
David Luiz, who was named captain in the absence of the suspended Thiago Silva, could only offer an apology at full-time for an abject personal and collective performance.
"I just wanted to give some happiness to my people. To my people, who suffer so much already," Luiz toldRede Globo.
"Unfortunately we couldn't do it. I'm sorry, everyone. Sorry to all Brazilians. I wanted to see my people smiling.
"Everyone knows how important it was for me to make the Brazilian people happy, even if just because of football."
“To explain what happened now is complicated. This is a dream that ends, although not the way we hoped.
"In my life, I've learned to be a man at all times. I won't shy away from anything, I'll take it on the chin. One day I'll give happiness to those people."

Germany striker Miroslav Klose became the record scorer in World Cup history by netting his 16th finals goal against Brazil...Kudos!
He is not a Ronaldo or a Pele, he is simply a goal poacher.
The 36-year-old Lazio striker put his country 2-0 ahead as they opened up a 5-0 half-time lead in Belo Horizonte.
Klose moved level with former Brazil striker Ronaldo by scoring against Ghana earlier in the competition.
Germany's leading goalscorer with 71 goals in 136 games, he is the third player to net at four World Cups.
Brazil legend Pele and West Germany's Uwe Seeler both scored at the 1958, 1962, 1966 and 1970 finals.
Klose's goal against Brazil came in his 23rd World Cup appearance, a tally only compatriot Lothar Matthaus has bettered.
Germany have never lost a game in which he has scored.
Brazil 1-7 Germany.....A brutal demolition by a superior side
Brazil's World Cup dreams ended in humiliating and brutal fashion as Germany inflicted their heaviest defeat in the first semi-final in Belo Horizonte.
A thunderous occasion that began with Brazil riding a tidal wave of emotion was reduced to a nightmare as Germany were 5-0 up inside 29 remarkable minutes in front of a disbelieving Estadio Mineirao crowd.
Brazil's players mourned the absence of the injured Neymar before kick-off, but captain Thiago Silva was an even bigger loss. The result was their first competitive home defeat in 39 years, and the end of their hopes of making it to the World Cup final at the iconic Maracana on Sunday.
Instead, Germany will meet either Argentina or the Netherlands, who play on Wednesday in Sao Paulo.

Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng have been expelled from Ghana's World Cup squad for alleged indiscipline.
Ghana’s plans for this evening’s decisive World Cup clash against Portugal have been catapulted into chaos after two players – Sulley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng – were suspended indefinitely and ordered home.
The Ghanaian FA claim that a team meeting descended into acrimony on Tuesday when Muntari launched ‘an unprovoked physical attack on Moses Armah, an Executive Committee member from the national association.
Fifa bans Luiz Suarez from 9 international games and four months from all football activities.
The FIFA disciplinary committee, after more than 10 hours of talks over Wednesday night and Thursday morning, banned has banned Luiz Suarez from nine competitive Uruguay games and four months of all football activity.
This follows him biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder during Uruguay's victory over Liverpool, the third time he has done such an abhorrent act on the football field, which was taken into account by the committee.
Suarez will miss 13 Liverpool games and any transfer negotiations will not be affected by the ban but would obviously complicate matters, and has been fined £65,000.

Fifa opens disciplinary proceedings against Luiz Suarez.
Fifa has opened disciplinary proceedings against Luiz Suarez after the Uruguayan was accused of biting by Italy centre-back Giorgio Chiellini.
The Liverpool striker, who has previously been embroiled in two biting controversies, seemingly leant into Chiellini and bit his shoulder, with the Juventus man keen to point a mark on his skin out to the referee.
And after announcing on Tuesday evening that they would look replays of the altercation, the world's governing body has deemed the incident serious enough to take forward.
A statement read: "Fifa can confirm that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the player Luis Suarez of Uruguay following an apparent breach of art. 48 and/or art. 57 of the Fifa Disciplinary Code during the 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil match Italy-Uruguay played on 24 June 2014.
"The player and/or the Uruguayan FA are invited to provide with their position and any documentary evidence they deem relevant until 25 June 2014, 5pm, Brasilia time
Suarez has always had a thing for Giorgio Chiellini's Shoulder....He attempted having a bite 12 months ago....Suarez should be locked in a cage.
The two sides met during the third-place play-off during the World Cup warm-up tournament and, after the incident on Tuesday, it appears Suarez has been biding his time and waiting for the opportunity to strike again.
Finally we have Louis van Gaal first signing at Manchester United for £28.4 Million
Athletico Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera is close to becoming Louis van Gaal's first signing at Manchester United for the sum of £28.4million.
The 24-year-old has been offered a staggering €181,000-a-week contract, with United dispatching a lawyer to Spain to thrash out a deal and the player having already bid farewell to his team-mates.
United are keen to finalise a move for Herrera in the coming days as they look to exploit a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for €35m - a figure that would rise to around €40m on July 1.
New United boss Louis van Gaal, who takes over at Old Trafford after his World Cup commitments with Netherlands, has given the green light to the move as he looks to shape his squad for an assault on the Premier League title in 2014-15.Monday, 23 June 2014
Maradona describes Lionel Messi's match-winning strike against Iran as "divine intervention"....But Iran didn't deserve to lose sha.
Argentina legend Diego Maradona has described Lionel Messi's match-winning strike against Iran as "divine intervention", echoing his sentiment towards his own Hand of God goal scored 28 years ago in the World Cup.
The Barcelona maestro unleashed a superb curling effort past Iran goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi in the 91st minute to snatch victory for Argentina.
What could have been the greatest result in Iran’s football history didn't happen because the best footballer of this generation found his left foot when his team needed it the most. It was an excellent effort; the placement, power and curl on the ball being just perfect."
And Maradona has now praised captain Messi for coming to the team’s rescue with his sublime long-range effort, saying it was the work of God which allowed the 26-year-old to score.
"Argentina qualified for the second round with divine intervention in the form of their captain in injury time," Maradona wrote in his Times of India column on the anniversary of his Hand of God goal.
Osaze says Nigeria can reach the World Cup final......Some people can dream sha!
Peter Osaze Odemwingie who scored the only goal of the game against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday to put Nigeria on the verge of qualifying for the last 16 in Brazil now believes Nigeria have what it takes to go all the way to the final and the 32-year-old revealed that he is not the only one who is optimistic about their chances.
"I saw a Brazilian on the street who told me he foresaw Nigeria playing the final against Brazil and I said to myself 'why not', going by the level of our players and the fact that they are yet to peak," he said.
"But mark my words - we have a very resilient defence, a creative midfield and an attack force that can trouble any defence in the world. If we played to our potentials, we can go all the way."
Ronaldo admits he never believed his average side could win the World Cup.... Guess reality just hit him.
Cristiano Ronaldo has remarkably admitted that he never believed his 'average' side could win the World Cup.
"Maybe we're an average team," he said. "It would be a lie to say that we are a 'top' team. We have many limitations and suffer from injuries such as with Pepe [who was suspended] and [Fabio] Coentrao. This limits us a lot. We have a very limited team and we are not at the best level. This does not enable you to beat top teams.
"There are no miracles. We knew we would have a tough group, with perhaps teams better than us. I never thought we could be world champions, we have to be humble and know our level. I'm not a hypocrite, I never thought we could win the tournament "
Ronaldo also admitted Portugal looked tired against Jurgen Klinsmann's men in the humid conditions of the Amazon, but did not feel able to expand on that fully due to his own struggles.
Portugal 2-2 USA ....Ronaldo's hope of making the last 16 hanging by a thread.
Cristiano Ronaldo's hopes of making the last 16 are in jeopardy. Just as it looked as though the Americans had secured a come-from-behind victory to qualify for the second round, Varela scored with a flying header from a Cristiano Ronaldo cross. Clint Dempsey had given the United States the lead in the 81st minute, steering the ball home with his stomach from close range.
A draw between Germany and USA will see both through, while Portugal must beat Ghana to have a chance of progressing.
Portugal are relying on a Germany win and must also achieve a six-goal swing if they are to pip the USA to second place and reach the last 16.
Luiz Felipe Scolari vs Louis van Gaal..... Ghen Ghen
Louis van Gaal complained that Brail will play their final Group A match against Cameroon in Brasillia four hours after Holland meet Chile in Sao Paulo in Group B and accused FIFA of dirty ‘tricks’ and a lack of ‘fair play’ by claiming the fixtures give Brazil an advantage because they will know the identity of their likely second round opponents by the time they take on Cameroon.
But Scolari angrily hit back at suggestions his side would do anything other than try to beat Cameroon.
'Some people expressed a view that we were going to choose who we were going to play. Those sorts of comments are either stupid or ill-intentioned, I repeat stupid or ill-intentioned,' said Scolari, raising his finger.
Do you suspect any foul play by Fifa?

Germany 4-0 Portugal..... What happened to our world best???
Early in the second half, Ronaldo tried to take on the entire German defence alone. Almost inevitably, he was quickly and easily dispossessed, allowing Joachim Low's men to break and engineer an opening for Mesut Ozil that really should have been taken. All the while, Ronaldo had remained on halfway, hands on hips, cheeks puffed out, clearly bemused by the futility of his efforts.
By that stage, Portugal were already 3-0 down. The game was over – and Ronaldo knew it. He had denied beforehand that he had anything to prove on the game’s grandest stage but there was no denying that he had arrived in Brazil intent on improving significantly upon a record of two goals from 48 previous shots on goal in World Cup competition. He was desperate to show the watching world what he was capable of. At Arena Fonte Nova, he did not get a chance to.
Ronaldo will also undoubtedly feel betrayed. Pepe is one of the senior members of the squad. He is a colleague at both international and club level. Ronaldo’s frustration was therefore understandable. As were his attempts to try to drag Portugal back into the game all by himself.
Its unfortunate one tree cannot make a forest.

Picture of the day....lol
Spain suffered the worst ever defeat by a defending champion in the first game of a World Cup, and only their second loss in 55 games
Maradona says ''tiki taka'' is dead....Don't you agree with him?
Diego Maradona believes Spain's tiki-taka approach is dead and says their style has been exposed on the back of their 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Netherlands.
Spain were undone by the Dutch counterattack in Salvador, with Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie both scoring twice and Stefan De Vrij adding another as Louis van Gaal's side recovered from falling behind to Xabi Alonso's first-half penalty.
"That the Spanish team has been ageing became evident when they lined up for their opening Group B clash against The Netherlands," the 53-year-Argentina legend wrote in his column for the Time of India.
"That the Spanish team has been ageing became evident when they lined up for their opening Group B clash against The Netherlands," the 53-year-Argentina legend wrote in his column for the Time of India.
And Maradona believes Vicente del Bosque has been guilty of failing to heed the warnings of Barcelona's struggles this season, resulting in Friday's capitulation.
"Spain have been playing tiki-taka for quite some time now. It's a wonderful way of playing football, and fans and experts from all over the world have wholeheartedly shown their affection for this brand of game. It won them three consecutive big tournaments from 2008 to 2012.
"But [Vicente del Bosque] should have kept in mind that clubs in Europe have found an answer to Barcelona's style, which is very similar to what their national team plays. A fast-paced policy based on counterattacks has worked well against them.
"Spain have refused to change despite critics repeatedly pointing out that their style has been exposed."
They call him Andre Pirlo....The definition of a play-maker
Andre Pirlo did his damage without touching the ball. It was a beautiful dummy, one which suckered in Daniel Sturridge and created the space for Claudio Marchisio to fire Italy ahead, with the crispest of drives
One of the finest midfielders of his generation with a gift for visualising the game, and unpicking it with his passing and control. Two years on from Kiev, a few degrees hotter with more hair on his face, he is still a delight to watch and a master play-maker.There is no-one in English football to match him. He protects the ball never gives it away and his head is always swivelling around, looking for openings, checking out the movement around him.
Do you think the outcome of yesterday's match would have gone in favour of England if this man was used instead of Leighton Baines?
England 1-2 Italy. England played well, but lost. Went for it, but lost. Had many of the best chances, but lost. That happens in football and we’ll live with it

Who is Arjen Robben?
He is 30 years of age, looks like 50 years and plays like a 23 year old.In times past he has played for Chelsea and Real Madrid and currently he is still doing exploits with Bayern Munich. personally I think he should be short-listed amongst the top 3 nominees for the Ballon d'or next year.
The Dutchman constantly tore the Spainish defence line to pieces, netting two wonderful goals and forcing Casilas into a string of solid stops late on.
Robben and RVP are named my players of the match.
Friday, 13 June 2014
No matter which country you support, you must feel pity for this man
The experienced goalkeeper made several great saves, but made a couple of very costly mistakes to gift the Dutch two goals, one of them
in the 72nd minute trying to control a simple back pass, Casillas only managed to present the ball to Van Persie and goal number four was poked in to the empty goal Casillas looked like a goalkeeper in need. He looks not to have recovered from his poor showing in last month’s Champions League final and it will be interesting to see if Del Bosque drops him next week and, if so, who out of David de Gea or Pepe Reina comes in.
Is that a Plane? is that a Bird? No....Its the flying Dutchman RVP
It was incredible, unbelievable, astonishing, unthinkable and arguably the goal of the tournament, a 50 yard ball from the flank meets Robin van Persie's head in the air to catch Casilas of his line and deliver a superlative goal against the defending champions Spain.
It is a goal that will live long in the memory of Robin van Persie soaring through the air landing on his chesth... This is the World Cup
Spain 1-5 Netherland....If you had watched the first half and gone to bed, you would not believe the final scoreline in the morning.
Spain were humbled and humiliated - the last time they conceded five goals in an international match was in 1963 - and it might not only be a fatal blow to their hopes in this tournament, but it could signal the end of an era for one of the game's greatest teams.

The 2014 World Cup Theme song titled : We are one... What is your take on the song?
According to some reports, fans of the host country are disappointed in the tournament’s theme song, a pop anthem titled “We Are One (Ole Ola)” featuring Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte.
The general consensus, it would appear, is that the dominantly English lyrics and a flimsy pop beat don’t properly represent Brazil and its rich musical history.
Its a done deal as Fabregas completes a move to Chelsea for £30M....Fabregas welcome back to the English Premiership.
Cesc Fabregas completed his shock £30million switch to Chelsea yesterday and confirmed Arsenal snubbed the chance to re-sign him.
The Spain international has signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, understood to be worth in the region of £150,000-per-week.And in announcing his return to the Premier League, Fabregas was quick to underline the fact his former club rejected the chance to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium.
But what if Croatia wins Brazil tonight? Catch tonights match by 9pm Lagos time
Lets say it happens, ofcourse anything is possible in football after all Real Madrid thrashed Bayern Munich by 4-0 at the Allianz Arena and nobody thought it was possible. So what if Croatia can create an upset for the host nation on opening day...
If that was to happen then Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic could be the architect of such havoc. They led their club sides to the Champions League and Europa League titles this season.
Despite Croatia’s brilliant central-midfield pairing, few believe they have a hope of beating Brazil in the opening game of the World Cup in Sao Paulo this evening.
Anything but a Brazil win might be unexpected, but it is certainly not out of the question.
Rakitic, who had a sensational season in midfield for Sevilla, will be key to the success of Croatia’s counter-attacking.The 26-year-old can break at speed with the ball at his feet and he knows exactly when to keep it and when to thread it through to a team-mate.
Sevilla’s second goal in their 2-1 win over Real Madrid in March is a perfect example of just how good he is at this.
He and Modric are very good at shielding the ball so Croatia can expect to see their fair share of possession at the Estadio de Sao Paulo.
And there is a high chance they might be joined in the centre of the pitch by a third playmaker, the Inter Milan prodigy Mateo Kovacic.
Manchester United launch £56M bid for PSG striker Edinson Cavani.....Do you think Cavani is worth £56M? Well I don't
Hmmm. Judging from last season Champions league where he scored only 4 goals. I think its safe to say that Edinson Cavani is not worth £56M. But we have another opportunity to see the Uruguayan international in action in this year world cup.
Manchester United have made a £56million bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports in Italy.
Daily newspaper Tuttosport report that Cavani, who spent six years in Italy with Palermo and Napoli, is top of new United manager Louis van Gaal's wishlist.
The Uruguay striker, 27, only joined PSG last summer for around £55m, but is said to be unhappy in Paris at having to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
78 year-old Sepp Blatter insists his mission is not finished and seeks a fifth term as Fifa president.....Do you think he should still be talking about running for Fifa Presidency?
Sepp Blatter has indicated he wants to seek a fifth term as Fifa president and called Uefa "disrespectful" after calls for his resignation.
He has been widely criticised over the damage corruption allegations have caused football's governing body.
But the 78-year-old Swiss said he was angered by calls by his European counterparts for him to quit.
"This was the most disrespectful thing I've ever experienced in my entire life," he said at Fifa's congress.
Ahead of the 2014 World Cup, which starts in Brazil today, Blatter said "his mission is not finished" after Fifa decided not to impose an age limit nor maximum terms for officials.
Meanwhile, he floated a new proposal for matches where managers would be allowed two challenges to refereeing decisions during a match with immediate television reviews.
Any such plan would need to be approved by the International Football Association Board.
With continuing controversy over Qatar's successful bid to host the 2022 World Cup, Blatter has come in for increasing criticism.
Ejike Uzoenyi who was recalled to the Nigeria squad as a replacement for injured Echiejile has teamed up with the Eagles in Brazil.... #GoTeamNaija
The reintroduction of Uzoenyi back to the Nigerian squad would give the Super Eagles more creativity from the flanks, we saw his exploits at the 2014 African Nations cup and also his contributions in the friendly against Scotland. We hope he would be that missing link to get the Super Eagles back to winning ways.
Enugu Rangers winger Ejike Uzoenyi has teamed up with his Super Eagles colleagues in Brazil on Wednesday evening for the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
The 2014 African Nations Championship Most Valuable Player who was recalled to replace injured Elderson Echiejile was delayed by his Nigerian club after their failure to receive formal notice from the Nigeria Football Federation.
"Uzoenyi who was named by Keshi as replacement arrived Brazil by 4pm local time from Nigeria," Super Eagles spokesman, Ben Alaiya said.

Do you think the signings of Fabregas and Costa, for £28million and £32m respectively, will help Chelsea win their first league title since the 2009-10 season ?
Jose Mourinho is confident he has captured Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona to replace Frank Lampard at Chelsea and is hoping a deal can be announced before Spain face Holland in their opening World Cup game on Friday.
He is convinced that Fabregas and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa are both bound for Stamford Bridge this summer, as the Chelsea manager looks to spice up his attack ahead of a title challenge next season.
Spain and Barcelona team-mate Gerard Pique appeared to confirm Fabregas’ move to Chelsea during a conversation with Spain boss Vicente del Bosque at a promotional event last week.
The defender told Del Bosque: ‘He [Cesc] told me it’s all done. He’s going, €33m he told me.’
Fabregas' partner Daniella Semaan then posted an Instagram message with a picture of her and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi's partner Antonella Roccuzzo, saying: 'I miss this girl so so so so much' before using the hashtag #tevoyaextranar, translated as 'I'll miss you'.
Calm down peps !!! Neymar is fine.....But can't Brazil thrive without Neymar?
Phew! what a relief for the host nation Brazil, after star forward Neymar quickly recovered after going down with an ankle injury during training on Monday.
The Barcelona star rolled his ankle during the selecao's training session outside Rio de Janeiro forcing him to receive treatment on the pitch.
However, after spending some time on the floor, the World Cup's poster-boy was able to pick himself up and walk gingerly away before firing free kicks into the net.
This would have been a big blow for the host nation, but do you think that Brazil would suffer if the injury prevented him from participating in the world cup?
Mario Balotelli proposes to his girlfriend Fanny Neguesha.... and she said YES
Italy striker Mario Balotelli propose to his girlfriend Fanny Neguesha ahead of Saturday's clash with England
The controversial AC Milan forward took to Instagram to confirm that his on-off partner had said yes late on Monday evening, posting an image of his new fiancee's hand adorned with a sparkling ring.
Balotelli accompanied the image with the message: 'She said yes.. The most important yes in my life. That was the place of my question! I Love you and happy birthday too! Je t'aime my WIFE'

Franck RIbery out of the World Cup with back injury.....Ribery but Y
The Bayern Munich player, 31, has been ruled out after injuring his lower back in a training session on Friday.
"He is not capable of training for a few weeks, let alone playing a game," Deschamps told a news conference.
Ribery pulled out of the training session after complaining of pain and was later taken for an MRI scan, which confirmed the extent of the injury.
The three-time French player of the year has been suffering from lower back pains for several weeks, playing only once for club or country since 29 April.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that Chelsea are in the race to sign Cesc Fabregas.....Chelsea and midfielder sha
Jose Mourinho has revealed that Chelsea are in the running for the signing of Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The spanish midfielder has been linked with a number of club including former side Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City
"I think he is eager to leave Barcelona and very motivated by the idea of returning to England. I think that is pretty clear," Mourinho said at a Yahoo event in Belgium.
"After that, whether he signs for us or someone else is not a question for today, tomorrow or before the World Cup.
"We are interested to see how the situation evolves."
Fabregas' Spain and Barcelona team-mate Gerard Pique has admitted that the midfielder has told him he is set to depart Camp Nou for 33 million euros this summer while Fernando Torres has encouraged him to move to Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard....Consistency Professionalism Excellence... Simply irreplaceable
Over the years he has scored goals against all kinds of opposition, from Blackburn to Barcelona. He has scored goals everywhere, from Manchester to Moscow, and lots of them – at least 20 in seven of the last 11 seasons, and over 10 in every one bar his final campaign. There have been plenty of important goals, too.
There is no grand secret to Lampard’s success - hard work has been the key. He was never blessed with the natural talent bestowed on Gerrard and many other of his peers, a fact that enhances his achievements rather than denigrating them. Along the way there have been minor blips but none of the petulant moments which characterised much of Drogba’s early Chelsea career, nor the scandals which have plagued Terry. It is Lampard, always eloquent and uncontroversial, who has been the perfect ambassador for the club.
The piece on Chelsea’s website said it best: “…we have never seen his like in our midfield before, and we will be very blessed to again see his equal.”
Real Madrid are ready to offer £76 million for Luiz Suarez
Liverpool have made it clear that Suarez is not for sale and the player has gone ahead to admit he is very happy at Anfield, but will Liverpool be forced to change their mind with Real Madrid constant plot of raising the bar for the purchase of the striker.
The prospect of playing along side Ronaldo and Bale could be enough temptation to make Suarez change his mind or what do you think?
