Manchester United fans are gradually showing their disgust towards Moyes.. But why did Sir Alex pick David Moyes as successor at the first place?

Manchester United's dismal 3-0 defeat in the derby sparked fury among United supporters, with some near manager David Moyes having to be restrained by stewards and others directing their anger at Ferguson, apparently for his role in appointing his successor.
It all made for particularly uncomfortable viewing for under-fire Moyes, who watched much of the second-half with head in hands.

A spectator bounded down the steps from his seat in the south stand to shout at Moyes and had to be restrained and escorted away by security staff.
At the end of the match, stewards guarded to 'Chosen One' banner hanging on upper tier of the Stretford End to prevent fans removing it.

Moyes later stoked the fans' ire by claiming United must "aspire" to reach City's level in the near future – despite beating them to the league title by 11 points last season.
He told reporters after the game: "I think we've played a very good side and it's the sort of standard and level we need to try and aspire to get ourselves to at this moment in time
