Europa League semi final first leg result: Sevilla 2-0 Valencia

Sevilla have one foot in the Europa League final after a quickfire first-half double proved enough to beat Valencia 2-0 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Stephane Mbia gave the hosts the lead with an improvised effort from close range, though the hosts were left to bemoan a controversial decision to rule the Cameroonian onside, before Bacca scored a matter of minutes later to secure a two-goal first leg advantage.
Valencia slowly came into the game, but lacked a focal point in attack and that enabled their La Liga rivals to record a valuable clean sheet, although only after Eduardo Vargas rattled the crossbar late on.

The victory was Sevilla's first over Valencia this season, but Emery will not be getting too carried away with the result heading into next week's second leg as their opponents came from 3-0 down in their quarter-final tie with Basel to progress to the last four
