Jose Mourinho has hailed Real Madrid's Raphael Varane as 'the best young defender in the world'.
The Chelsea boss heaped huge praise on the former Lens centre back, who he signed during his managerial spell in the Spanish capital for £8million in 2011.
Asked about Varane, who appeared for France in Wednesday's nights 2-0 win over Holland, Mourinho told The Sun: 'I think he is the best young central defender in the world. Already I think he's the best.'
